Be Bilingual: Practical Ideas for Multilingual Families
I'm currently reading this book on bilingualism by Annika Bourgogne and I would love to recommend it to parents who are looking for tips to raise bilingual kids. She holds a Master of Arts degree in French and English, but she's also a mother of two bilingual daughters. So, this book is the perfect intersection of theories and passion about bilingualism. What I like the most about Annika's book is that she offers "words from the wise", that is, the literature on the subject and "view from the front lines", information coming from herself or from other parents. I like to read about the scientific research, but I find the practical examples are more fun and something I can really use. Annika is married to a French man and has two bilingual (Finnish-French) children. You can follow her blog on bilingualism here. What do you think of this video? It's her daugher Sara speaking in French. Isn't she lovely?
